It has been a fluster of activity over the last few weeks and I honestly still am playing catchup here and there. I’m really sorry about this but now Im going to see if I cant jump-start my project on this site once more. Excuse the dust…again.
Sadly, I did not have much good luck with getting the registration plug-ins to work in the way that I wanted it. Better luck next time? I am looking some up and seeing some that I might not have tried before. Hmm..
In the meantime, I am also hoping I can add more content to this site that give more exposure to the extent of the community here. I’m collecting the following kind of information, albeit a bit slowly:
*Artist’s Link (local)
*Monthly or Weekly events.
*Furry Gathering Locations

Sadly, it seems that member profiles were not able to be transferred over. Copies of the previous site have been put into backup but the selection for profile directory plugins for Wordpress are more putrid than I thought. Our idea was for fellow members to put themselves up in a directory that could be accessed for both local and non-local furs to get in contact with them. It could be displayed on a page, along with a profile image which appears as a thumbnail.
Sadly, the best plugin I have seen is a rather confusing bit of PHP code and the programmer was very much lacking in his “relating with people” skills and was more into the “donation” aspect to things (i.e. making $$$). Hopefully a better one will come along or something. So until then, hang tight.

Finally, a long overdue project is off my table and here for pubic consumption. While Wordpress isnt a crutch for all the websites I design, it seemed perfect for the type of website that I want SoCalFurs to be. So far, the first template is done and I hopefully can get a few more done for each of the 4 seasons (not that Cali seems to have weather).
More things will be happening with SoCalfurs including finally getting some community driven things put in such as articles for the local “furry party venues” and some stuff for all the local furry/anthro artists.
